Tomos completed a degree in Psychology at Cardiff University before working in a hospice helped him decide he wanted to become a doctor. He completed the graduate entry to Medicine course at Nottingham University in 2008. He spent his first years as a doctor working in surgical training throughout South Wales, where he completed his Membership to the Royal College of Surgeons. He decided to move to New Zealand with his partner a decade ago. Over the last 10 years he has been working as a GP and in Urgent Care throughout West Auckland.
